MAITLAND, FL—Looking for a perfect gift to show your appreciation this Father’s Day? Look no further than a manatee from Save the Manatee Club’s Adopt-A-Manatee® program. Your father figure will receive a personalized adoption certificate, photo, and unique biography of a real living manatee studied by research teams in Florida.
There are 34 adoptable manatees in the program, including Chessie, who has made the journey from Florida’s east coast to the Chesapeake Bay at least twice, and Nick, who has been known to travel north while other manatees are traveling south for the winter.
Each symbolic manatee adoption starts at $25 and includes a one-year Save the Manatee Club membership. Members receive a quarterly newsletter, The Manatee Zone, with updates on adoptable manatees and additional important manatee information. For a limited time, adoptions at the $35 level or above also include a Save the Manatee Club bucket hat.
Funds from the Adopt-A-Manatee® program directly support Save the Manatee Club in its mission to protect manatees and their habitat, including emergency rescue, rehabilitation and release efforts; education and public awareness programs; and other critical work to address the ongoing manatee mortality crisis on Florida’s east coast.
Please order by Monday, June 6 for delivery by Father’s Day. Manatee adoptions also make a great last-minute gift, as personalized adoption certificates are emailed immediately. To Adopt-A-Manatee, visit adoptamanatee.org or call 1-800-432-JOIN (5646).
