Materials Needed:

  • Calendar
  • Tape or glue
  • Ribbon or string (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Pick out your pages

Depending on the size of your book, you may need 2-4 calendar pages.

Step 2: Arrange your pages and cut to size.

Using the book you want to cover as a size guideline, measure out an approximate rectangle slightly larger than the book itself. Arrange your pages with the images you want to see face down, and then tape or glue them together. Then, cut to fit your book. You want about 2 inches of excess at the top and bottom, and about 3 inches on each side when the book is open flat.

Step 3: Fold top and bottom edges.

Center the book to be covered by the pages and create creases along the top and bottom edges of the book. Then, fold the paper down along these creases across the entire length of the paper so that it matches the book in height. Place the book on top.

Step 4: Wrap the jacket around the book evenly.

Make sure your book is centered, and carefully wrap the pages around your book with excess on each side. Fold the excess paper around the front and back covers to create light creases.

Step 5: Slide the book into cover.

Using the small flaps you created on the sides, tuck your book’s cover into these flaps.

Be creative:

Attach a ribbon to the center of the top folded edge for a book marker!
