Create A Manatee Bookmark from a Calendar

20240130 155653

In this upcycling project, embrace sustainability and add a personal touch to your reading adventures by creating your own bookmark using calendar preview photos. Follow the steps below to make your own and customize it however you like!

Thank you again to all our wonderful photographers who have contributed their stunning photography to our calendars!

Materials Needed:

  • Old Save the Manatee Calendar
  • Heavyweight cardstock
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Single-hole punch (optional)
  • String, twine, or ribbon (optional)
  • Decorative items like stickers, washi tape, stamps (optional)

Instructions

Select your favorite preview photos from the back of the calendar and cut them out. Some of the small photos from inside the calendar work well for this, too.

Outline the shape of your bookmark and cut it out. You can either trace a bookmark you already have, or measure out the dimensions you’d like. The pictured bookmark is about 2.25″ x 7.75″.

If you want to add a ribbon, put a hole punch about 1/4″ from the top of the bookmark.

Lay out the photos and glue them down once you’ve decided what you like best.

Decorate them however you like!
